Depth Work Dairy

In this lesson i made an image bank on depth which included image that i found interesting and then i annotated them. When i went out to shoot depth i found it easy as it all depended on the angel you took the image at which i feel i am good at.


Here are my two most successful photographs on depth. Both of them have the effect that the image is coming to point.





 In my first photograph i decided to have a person nearest to the camera as i felt this added to the depth as the person was the biggest and it made the wall seem like it goes on for longer
.
In my second it is simply just a wall however by me taking it at a certain angle it added depth to the image.

If i was to continue with depth i would take more images which include a subject as i feel it adds to the depth of the image.

In this image the 3 cars gradually become out of focus the further away they are from the camera. This adds depth as the nearest car appears to be the main focus, the fact the you are still able to see the other cars even they are not as defined allow depth to be further shown within the image. This is also due to the fact that all the colours that are uses are bold and simple which contrasted the light blue floor within the photograph.

This photograph shows depth as the trees nearest to the camera appear to be taller and as they become further away they appear to be smaller. The trees also become lighter as they become further away compared to the trees nearer to the camera which are dark green and brown. The person standing at the back of the photograph, looks very small compared to the trees which emphases how far away the last tress are from the camera.

This image shows depth by the field appearing to come to a point the further away it becomes from the camera. This effect is called converging parallels which is just one of the ways of showing depth within a 2D photograph. The sky appears to be very low to the ground in this photograph which i feel add to the depth within the image.

In this image is showing depth as the nearest part of the coke can is in focus and the furthest end of the coke can is not in focus which gives the effect that it is further away and maybe it longer than it actually is. This has been successful in showing depth in this case due to the angle at which the photograph has been taken.

My definition of depth is a way of showing the distance or length of something.

This first image shows depth as the camera is focused on the ground nearest to it making the distance appear further away and the path look as if it is coming to a point which i called converging parallels
.

This image shows depth in the way in which the colored light bulbs appear to be getting smaller due to the angle the image has been taken at however in fact all the bulbs are the same size but this is how it appears in the image

This image shows depth through converging parallels which makes the strings of the guitar seem further apart nearest to the camera and that they seem to become closer together the further you are away from the camera

This image shows depth in the way that the tree trunks become short as they become further away from the camera. Also there is a person at the back of the image which helps add to the depth as they look very little suggesting that she is far away like the trees

This image has a focal object of the leaf which appears the biggest and the most in focus. Depth is shown by everything after the leaf becoming out of focus to suggest that it is further away than the leaf.

This is the simple example of depth which is with a train track. The train track appears to be coming to a point which is converging parallels. This is how the depth is shows as the train seems to be long and far away.
